Amy E. Miller, CPM
midwife, monatrice, doula, placenta encapsulation, childbirth education

www.redhousebirth.com
I am a midwife, doula, childbirth educator and placenta encapsulator serving a 80 mile radius from Hagerstown, MD. After bringing 5 of my own children into the world, I have been serving laboring women for 6 years. I attend home or hospital births and have varied experiences allowing me to serve families of varied backgrounds and cultures.
I believe that childbirth is more than just a physical event. It is a sacred time for mother, baby, the new family and the community. I believe that birth is a spiritual transition for the woman as she moves into motherhood for the first, fifth or tenth time! Every time I attend a birth, I feel deeply honored that I am privileged to witness a momentous event. I also believe that birth is normal. Birth works best when undisturbed and motherbaby are encouraged to move, eat, drink and follow instincts.
My service as a midwife, doula or childbirth educator reflects this philosophy. I do not believe in “methods” of childbirth. While they are helpful for some, childbirth methods tell the mother how to birth her child. This insinuates that she does not innately know how to birth her child already. Rather, I recommend taking time during the pregnancy to get in tune with baby and focusing on “letting go”.
I am available to serve as a midwife at home births or as a doula at hospital or home births. Please contact me for more information. I serve MD , VA, PA and WV.
Momease

www.momease.com
703-739-2831
500 Montgomery St., Suite 400
Alexandria, VA 22314
The goal of the post-partum doula is to nurture the mother and her family into becoming parents. With professional support from the doula, the mother and the family experience success, gain knowledge and become more self-confident with their baby. The post-partum doula usually provides visits during the day. Momease has several services from 3-hour to 6-hour post-partum packages for new parents. A baby nurse is a childcare professional or certified post-partum doula who comes into your home for a few weeks following childbirth. The baby nurse helps with infant care and can educate parents on infant care skills such as feeding and bathing. She will do night feedings and/or help support the mother in breastfeeding and perform other baby-related tasks. A baby nurse will typically have extensive training in newborn care, nutrition, bottle and breastfeeding and child development. (A baby nurse hired through Momease may or may not be a Licensed Vocational Nurse.)

jennracerdoula@gmail.com
Hello! My name Jennifer Racer. I first heard of doulas when my sister in law told me she had a doula and how great her experience had been. I immediately started researching and I took my doula training a few shirt months later in 2011. In the winter of 2012, I was blessed with a little baby boy and then a girl in 2016. I could not have done it without the help of my doula and husband. They were such a great birthing team, and that experience has made me even more passionate about being a doula. I am now certified for birth, bereavement and postpartum support through DONA, INT., Stillbirthday and ProDoula. I have done 25 births (plus 2 of my own) to date and from those I now have a variety of birth experiences, including VBAC, homebirths, rainbow baby births & cesarean births. I'm located in Baltimore County, Maryland. I service Baltimore county, Baltimore city, Howard county, Montgomery county and surrounding areas. My birth doula package includes: 1free consultation, 2 prenatal visits, 1 postpartum visit, unlimited email access for questions concerns and information, plus basic breastfeeding support. I believe that all women and their families should have the information needed to better inform them, and the added emotional support of a doula to encourage them through this beautiful journey of welcoming their little one into the world. I would love to be part of your team.
Other services I offer: Cesarean birth doula, bereavement doula, Postpartum Doula, Infant Care Specialist, Birth plan consultations, Postpartum plan consultations, Sibling doula, baby wearing and breastfeeding support.

I am a postpartum doula living in Washington, D.C. with my husband and three kids. I worked for a decade in global maternal and child health focusing on newborn health. After having my own kids, and walking through the transition to motherhood with my friends, I became interested in postpartum practices closer to home. I'm a DONA-trained postpartum doula and Certified Lactation Counselor. I love being with new families during the very special, intense postpartum period. I spend lots of time reassuring moms of what is normal, providing resources for questions and concerns, and helping new parents gain confidence in soothing and babywearing skills. I pay particular attention to breastfeeding, if applicable, since the first few weeks are a crucial period in the nursing relationship. My goal is for parents to emerge from the 'fourth trimester' as a bonded family unit with the confidence that they, and they alone, have become the experts on their baby.
Nathalie Grolleman CD/PCD(DONA) (202) 279 1089
www.doulanathalie.com
I am a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula and a former ICU/Cardiac Care Nurse. I have done over 90 births and I served over 25 families postpartum. I am also a mom of 3 teenagers and happily married. While I had my babies back in the Netherlands I had the privileges of having a postpartum doula, so I know what that can look like. She treated me like a queen. It was a wonderful time. She took away all my worries, she taught me a lot of newborn things and I was able to bond and to rest while she took care of my baby. As a Postpartum doula I will make sure you will have the best first week(s) with your baby, a great start that helps you and the whole family in the long term. The goal is that you feel strong and confident enough to do it by yourself when I leave the job.
